Water - Plant and Animal Life Depend on It

Water is the most plentiful liquid on earth, and for decades it has been used as though this natural resource has a never ending supply. This is not true, due to conditions like droughts, pollution and the expanding population, our natural water supplies are in danger.
The conservation of water is a serious matter, and one that shouldn't be overlooked. Protecting this natural resource from contamination is a major concern, along with the over use of it. Large underground basins of water that took many years to create are being polluted by the negligent use of toxins, from substances as exotic as trichloroethylene, (TCE ), that is in common items in the home, like correction fluid for typewriters, carpet cleaners, paints and varnishes, along with the use of products as simple as salts used to melt ice or snow.
Both plant and animal life need water to survive, and doing your part in keeping it pure is something that everyone should be aware of. Not all contaminates are man made, they do exist naturally in nature as well. Some of the natural occurring contaminates include, radon, radium, and arsenic. Other contaminates like, microorganisms, nitrates and pesticides are among the most common that get introduced into our water supplies.
If you depend on your water supply from your own private well, and it gets contaminated, it can not only effect you, it can impact every well that is using that same aquifer. Good land use practices are very important in keeping the natural water sources in your area clean and safe.
